Beautiful hand-crafted things to create at home
One of my favourite things to do is start a new craft project. There is something rewarding in creating something with my own two hands and watching it unfold into a treasured item or gift. Hand-made items are not only original treasures but they are a great way to personalise your world and express your own creativity.
In a world that is so saturated in trends and fads, and an age of excessive consumerism – we can’t help but be naturally drawn to the charm of hand made items. This section of my blog is dedicated to reminding us all of the simple pleasures in life and how DIY home projects can bring about great joy for both the creator and receiver.
Mass production is not only damaging to our planet and its people, it also brings with it an incredible amount of boredom and unoriginality. We feel good when we can connect with our items and when we know the story behind its creation. There is great beauty to be found in the gentle imperfections and the original design – all which weave and imprint the personality of the creator within the item.
Whether you are making a batch of herbal salves in your kitchen or preserving fruit from your garden, the projects you will find here at Simple Luxe Living revolve around simplicity and natural living.
Patience is more important than skill. So, no matter what your skill level or experience is, don’t be afraid to tap into your creativity and thread a needle, lay out a piece of fabric or unroll some yarn – for there is a lot of joy to be had in creating your own items.
