Free 30 Day Simple Living Challenge
There is no denying that modern life is hectic and fast-paced, and once you get caught up in the whirlwind of trying to be something to everyone, it takes a lot of effort to break that cycle.
The truth is that modern life will never leave us alone, it will always do its best to suck us up in the whirlwind of must and should, and sadly the pressure of deadlines will never be completely obsolete. However we can learn to live in harmony with the chaos, and this is done by being mindful about every thought, action and word we speak.
Simple living is built into your DNA, it’s what your soul craves and if you don’t take the time to stop and slow down – busy living will eventually get the better of you.
Simple living revolves around removing anything that is unnecessary. Be it objects, emotions, wants, prejudices or fears; it is about stripping life of all things false.
What is Simple Living?
- Identifying what is most important for you and eliminating everything else.
- Creating more time for doing things that you enjoy and spending time with the people that matter most to you.
- De-cluttering your mind, your everyday life and your virtual life.
- Learning to live in the moment….and be totally happy in it.
- Living with less stress.
- Striving to live with less so that you have the financial freedom to live out your dreams.
- Living a well-nourished life, including cleaning your home and your body, eating a diet rich in wholefoods, moving your body daily and thinking only positive thoughts.
- Being mindful of your impact, including embracing green living, choosing sustainable and ethical products and choosing your actions carefully.
- Appreciating the simple luxuries of life.
- Simplifying your goals, tasks and expectations.
Simple living is the conscious act of purifying your mind and surroundings of clutter and filling the space with the things that you value. So take the pledge and promise yourself that you will make simple living a priority.
After spending years entangled in clutter, despite all the warning signs, I became so buried in the clutter that my soul screamed at me to just ‘stop’. I woke up one day and just couldn’t do it anymore, any of it, all the clutter had become so heavy that I was forced to just stop and re-evaluate. While it certainly wasn’t my finest hour, it did however, force me to spend time evaluating what was truly important. Simplifying my living has changed my life dramatically and I am going to share with you the things I discovered during my two year quest to simplify my own life.
Whether you need a total life overhaul or are just looking for a few simple living tips – you are guaranteed to get some benefit out of this challenge.
Come August 1st, 2014 I will start posting ideas for simplifying different aspects of life and we will discuss and share our experiences in trying to implement them. These will be all things I have changed in my life or that I am striving to change.
